About

Kendra is a contemporary oil painter whose work explores mortality, power, and feminine presence through the visual language of classical realism. Drawing from Baroque and Old Master traditions, her paintings employ chiaroscuro, symbolic still life, and disciplined technique to examine themes of vanitas, memento mori, and psychological intensity within a contemporary context.

Her figurative works often present women as self-possessed and enigmatic—figures shaped by intention rather than narrative—while her still lifes function as quiet confrontations with time, decay, and consequence. Across both, contrast is central: soft flesh against steel, floral beside bone, gold emerging from shadow. These elements are arranged with restraint, favoring tension and presence over spectacle or sentiment.

Working primarily in oil, she emphasizes material presence through delicate brushwork and the selective use of gold, treating surface and weight as integral to meaning. Each painting is approached as a singular object, constructed slowly and deliberately. Created with intention and meant to be lived with, contemplated, and collected.

Based in Utah, her practice operates outside the region’s dominant decorative and doctrinal art traditions, aligning instead with contemporary figurative painting and symbolic realism on an international scale. Her work is held in private collections worldwide and is created for collectors drawn to paintings that are psychologically resonant, technically rigorous, and unapologetically introspective.
